A little soggy field

photo73

You can really see the rows of corn coming up since the rain. This field is a little soggy.

The new rows of corn!

photo61

It’s a little dark but you can just see the rows of corn coming up in one of the first fields we planted less than a week ago.

You always have at least one planter problem.

photo54

I’m enjoying a beautiful morning from our front porch.

photo55

When I head into town later to take Richard lunch, I find he’s had a problem. The scraper wheel on one of the rows has broken and stopped the whole row from planting. Thanks to our son, Matt, having put together a box of odd planter parts to always have with us, Richard has just what he needs to fix it.

photo56

It’s just at an awkward place to work.

photo57

This is the row that didn’t plant. Oops!

Moving the seed wagon . . .

Planting near the dairy in the background.

photo41

Time for me to take the seed wagon back to the barn lot.

photo42

That’s our little pond in the trees.

photo43

The view of home from the middle of the field.

photo44

I’m taking a shortcut through the woods.

photo46

I think it’s pretty back here.

photo45

Coming out of the woods.

photo47

On the way to the woods I pass the dairy’s pivot irrigator on our land. They spray their storm water through it onto our fields.

photo48

When I get back to the barn lot I see the mower crew is finished cutting the alfalfa.

GPS and Filling Up at Night

photo30

The GPS in the tractor is running off of 21 satellites – 6 Russian and 15 American. This is the readout for the Russian ones.

photo31

It’s almost like flying an airplane with the Roll, Pitch and Yaw!

photo32

Yep! We fill up even in the dark. We’re thankful for all the lights on the tractor.
